The responsibility of the medical rescuers is to organise and provide assistance to the injured. Situations that pose threat to human life and health are always different from each other. They may affect one or more people showing injuries of different extent and degree. There are neither identical accidents nor ready-to-use recipes for how to deal with them.
The National Medical Rescue Service Act has brought into existence a new profession of medical rescuers. Their background and responsibilities have been based on the model of the UK’s and US’s Emergency Medical Service, which has been adapted to the realities of the education and healthcare system in Poland.
